The eldest son Kim Jong-il, Kim Jong-nam, said the communist regime of North Korea (Korea) a matter of time until it is completely destroyed. North Korea's destruction is inevitable, with or without institutional reform within the government or the state ideology.
It is delivered Jong-nam in a recent book that will soon be published in Japan, quoted by The Guardian, Tuesday, January 17, 2012. The book includes conversations via electronic mail between Jong-nam with the Tokyo Shimbun reporter, Yoji Gomi, compilers of the book.
In one conversation between them, Jong-nam said that the succession of power from father to his youngest half-brother, Kim Jong-un, is a joke. Succession is initially also opposed by Jong-il himself, but still held for maintaining the stability of the regime.
Jong-nam said that Jong-un has not been too mature to be a leader. His younger brother, he said, is just a pawn, while the real power comes from the people around him.
Jong-nam predict, the future of government in North Korea will face a dilemma, whether to reform or remain on the existing political structure. But he does not care, because with or without reform, North Korea would be destroyed.
"The regime of Kim Jong-un will not last long. Without reform, North Korea would be destroyed. If the reforms do anything, the regime will also remain collapsed," said Jong-nam.
Kim Jong-nam is the first son Kim Jong-il from his first wife, Sung Hae-rim. While Kim Jong-un is the son of Jong-il's fourth wife, Ko Young-hee. Asked about the personality of Jong-un, Jong-nam claimed not to know anything.
"I was his half-brother, but I have never met in person, so I do not know," he said.
Jong-nam is currently believed to be in Macau after switching between Japan and China. He was caught while trying to embarrass his father fled to Japan with a fake passport in the 1990s. Currently he claimed protected by the Chinese government.
"The Chinese government protects me, but at the same time my monitor. It is a destiny that can not be avoided. If it can not be avoided, so enjoy it," he said.
